Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels)
that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your
customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML
code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»

WHO WE ARE
Ozone Bike Dept. was created over 12 years ago in Austin, Texas as a grassroots bicycle business, and we are definitely not your typical bike shop - we're the "Austin" bike shop. Even the Austin Chronicle says so. We won the 1999 and 1998 Best Bike Shop AND Best Repair Shop! Since then, we've only become bigger and better at serving the needs of the diverse local cycling community.
NEW BIKES
Ozone specializes in providing bicycles for commuters, trail riders, students, racers and casual riders. For 2005, we are an authorized dealer for 9 bike brands, covering all categories from BMX to road - even cyclocross. We're also one of the few shops in town that knows classic and antique bikes.
Ozone is able to keep prices low because we shop for customers' budgets. Our mountain bike selection, for example, features the most current models as well as last year's at big discounts. We're always on the lookout for great close-out deals, and if we buy it from our distributors on sale, you'll buy it from us on sale!
USED BIKES
Ozone Bikes is currently one of the only shops in Austin offering cash for good quality used bicycles - we also take trade-ins toward any bike or accessory items we stock. Our used bikes come fully-tuned and guaranteed just like our new bikes - no klunkers here!
BIKE SHIPPING SERVICES
Ozone Bike Dept. can arrange to box and ship your bicycle anywhere in the United States. If you are moving, vacationing, or transferring to a new job or university, Ozone can make sure your most prized possession arrives at its destination safely. We can also offer advice regarding the most reasonable ways to send your bike overseas.
How much effort it takes is entirely up to you - we'll happily arrange for a prepackaged bike to be picked up and transported via any of the current UPS service levels. Or, if you prefer to let us do the work, we can arrange for a professional service technician to carefully pack and box your bicycle - all you have to do is bring it in.
Shipping within the continental US typically takes under 5 business days from Austin via UPS Ground, and we can insure your bicycle for your protection. Ozone Bike Dept. is also a shipping destination, and we gladly receive bikes from anywhere and assemble them. |

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: For those of you who may know, I am a little biased toward this shop for one reason or another, but I speak sincerely when I say that this is the most "Austin" of bike shops. Everyone who works at Ozone is knowledgeable, honest, friendly, and best of all can put a beer down with the best of them.
Walk in to this shop, and you will figure out from the first second that it is different than most. Whether it be NWA, ZZ Top, or The Sword blaring throughout the shop or the no pressure sales, Ozone has the most laid back atmosphere. Often I have thought, that if given the space, Ozone would make a great bar as well.
Oh yeah. They also sell great brands at great prices and have the best mechanics in the city. UT student fixie to big travel Kona rider--this is your shop. Customer Service: Near perfect. Other Comments: Keep doing what you guys do best. I miss you during the week, but am glad I can ride on the weekends now.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Nice shop with a good selection of brands and friendly staff. Customer Service: I initially spoke with James (owner?) who gave me a lot of great info. Of my "tour de bicycle shops" that day, he was the most knowledgeable of anyone I spoke with. I actually planned to buy Kona Kula 2-9 that James had shown me, but when I returned to buy it later in the day another employee talked me out of it by telling me the bike would fit me well without any adjustment, which was incorrect and inconsistent with previous advice i had received. Other Comments: Overall, a great shop. Most people seem like they know what they are talking about in there, and they can order bikes in for you if they don't have what you are looking on hand.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Good selection of bikes. Didn't feel pressured to buy what ever they had in stock. I don't have any experience, but it felt like a place you could hang out for an hour in the middle of a ride, or get your bike tweeked if it needed it. Customer Service: Bought some grips and they installed them for no extra fee. This is much appreciated, as installing grips is a pain.
