Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Just visited Alex a few days ago after checking out about a dozen other shops in town. I would have gone there straight-away, but I assumed all he had were $5,000 bikes that are out of my league. He definitely has those, but was willing to work to find a bike that fit my budget.
Easily the most knowledgeable, friendliest, and most trust-worthy bike shop I have yet visited in Austin. I'll be buying my bike from Alex after he specs it out.
This is the only shop I've given all 5s to. Customer Service: Alex spent about an hour with me, talking to me about my riding style, options for bikes in my price range, trails in the area, and about various components. With years of racing and other industry experience, he was the most knowledgeable person I have talked to about bikes in Austin. Yet where most people with his experience love to tell you how good they are, Alex was out to figure out what bike will work best for me, and is researching and compiling a list of the components that will build the right bike for me in my price range. At no point did he try to talk me into spending more than I intended. Other Comments: Absolutely the shop to go to if you want to talk to the expert. I wouldn't mess around anywhere else if I was looking to spend a couple grand on a bike, but even if you are looking for something more affordable (like me), go talk to him and see what he can do for you.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: I recently purchased a Titus El Gaupo from Cycle Progression. I worked with Alex to select the right size, upgrade the rear shock, and select the right components. When the bike got to me (did I mention I live in Denver) it felt dialed-in on the inaugural ride. Alex was very helpful and knowledgeable and the bike fits my riding style perfectly. Everything came together perfectly and I could not be more pleased.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Cycle Progression is a fresh, new high-end bike shop here in Austin. Cycle Progression specializes in only the best of the best. There is no stockpile of junk aimed at cyclists that are NOT serious about riding. The shop is stocked with a great selection of bikes and frames. The location is great because it's in close proximity to the largest and arguably the best trail system in Austin - The Green Belt.
If you want to steer clear of the pushy sales people that are used to dealing with, and initially treat you like the zombie walk-ins, pseudo-riders and the clueless, then you'll find relief at Cycle Progression.
If you're at the ballpark to step up to the plate and play ball and not there to spill chili dog chili on your 2nd trimester gut, then Cycle Progression has a bat and glove for you!
Customer Service: Alex, the shop owner, is great to work with. He does a great job and doesn't hesitate to make sure everything is done correctly and to your satisfaction.
Other Comments: Alex is also a great rider and as such, knows the difference between the various choices for bikes and components. He's out here riding the toughest technical trails around with some of the best riders in the area. He's hammered on these rides with a wide range of products, so he knows what works best for more aggressive riding. He's also been heavily involved in the local racing scene and knows what works best for those that are serious about racing. 29ers? 26ers? AM longer travel? Race bikes? Single speeds? Rigid? You name it...Alex has ridden most of them.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: High end custom bike shop with generous inventory of the best designs out there. Alex has a lot of great bikes to choose from and is very knowledgeable about them. His passion about bikes and riding them is more than obvious. Customer Service: Excellent customer service with helpful insight on frame designs and components. Alex helped me choose the Pivot Mach 5 based on the type of riding I like to do and I couldn't be any happier. Delivery of the bike was incredible fast also and I was riding the latest design before most people had even heard of it. Awesome! Other Comments: I'll be buying more bikes at Progession Cycles in the very near future!
