Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

Although "Lance Armstrong" name implies that this shop is basically focused on road bikes, they have a good range of mountain bikes too. If you are looking for wide product variety other shops may be better, but when it comes to customer relations, this shop was miles better than any other bike shop that I have tried. They let me ride the bike on the nearby biking trail instead of the parking lot for free and they were helpful enough to let me try different sized frames by mounting different stems to get the best fit. Unlike some employees of other shops like BSS, it is obvious that these guys are not simple salesmen, they are bike enthusiasts.

Shop Summary:
Holy cow! This shop rocks. If you have never been to a pro bike shop this is the place to go. You can shop for a sweat road or mountain bike, then shop for huge variety of clothing (and kick ass MJ's t-shirt), and walk this beautiful shop. If you still haven't had enough, step next door for a coffee at Juan Pelotas.

Customer Service:
What makes this shop great is the enthusiastic employees and passion for riding. They were quiet friendly when I visited, which makes a tremendous difference. They were helpful when I was searching for a MJ's t-shirt and some nutrition for a ride I did from the shop.

Other Comments:
One thing I do want to mention a patron to the shop will contend with are the "snooty" shoppers. Okay so we all know this is Austin so that should be expected. Though this is not a direct reflection of the shop, it does facilitate- expensive bikes and accessories. But this is a great shop.

Customer Service:
Best that I have come across, employees seem to be both knowledgeable and cool people who like bikes at least as much as you do.
