Shop Summary:
Bike Lane, recently re-located to the Sam Moon Plaza (on the northbound frontage road just south of 242 and just north of the Home Depot @ Tamina/Research Forest), simply cannot be beaten. Larger and more comfortable than their previous store on FM1960 the knowledge, service and level of care are outstanding. Everything from your kid's first bike to high-end racing machines... Jane, herb (owners)and Ken (super, super mechanic and provider of invaluable advice) pretty much make you feel right at home and ensure you leave smiling....

Whatever your level of cycling experience - just visit. You'll be glad you did.

Shop Summary:
Small shop, but with a variety of bikes to choose from. Compared to other bike shops in the area, they had a greater variety of bikes and accessories to choose from. Another plus is that the shop is very well kept and maintained. From my understanding, they will be locating to a bigger shop in the near future.

Customer Service:
Customer service was outstanding. I dealt directly with Herb, the owner of the shop, and he was very knowledgeable and patient with the hundreds of questions I threw at him. Coming from out of town (Louisiana), he completely understood my circumstances and was very willing to help me with my needs. Not ever was he in to make a quick sale. Prices are always negotiable as long as he can support it, unlike Bike Barn, who did not even budge on their price for outgoing 2008 models. I am not going to throw numbers out, but as a hint, I got a new 2009 cannondale for the discounted 2008 price! I did not deal directly with the rest of the staff, but from what I observed while in the shop, not one customer was ever dissatisfied. Best Customer Service I have ever received, hands down!

Other Comments:
I would definetely recommend to anyone who is interested in purchasing a new bike. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Bike Lane should be your one stop shop! Thanks Herb and the rest of the staff for your outstanding attitudes. I will absolutely be purchasing my next bike from you guys!

Shop Summary:
The owner, Herb, and the mechanic, Ken, have always taken the time to speak with me, answer all my stupid questions and give me good advice. The shop is small but packed with what you need. The shop is also busy and with good reason - its in a good location and people know that they will get a good product at a fair price from people who know bikes.

Customer Service:
I have always been treated with respect and given good service no matter how crowded the store may be.

Shop Summary:
Learn to build your own components before going here! I've been to this shop twice in the last two years and while I agree with the other reviewers that the mechanic is top notch the customer service is awful. Two years ago I received a free road bike from my brother-in-law but it needed new cables plus a minor tune-up. It was at least ten years old but was a top model when new and still had some years left in it. This shop is close by so I figured I'd give them a chance. I met Witchi-poo when I first came in and she recommended I buy a newer bike rather than repair the old one. She pushed me on this till I almost walked out. The mechanic looked at it and said it was a good bike and that it needed minor repair. Sixty bucks later I'm out the door with a functioning bike. I don't need someone pushing me towards buying a new bike, I'll tell you I need a new bike when I decide to buy a new bike.

Just today, two years later, I needed some tubes for my mountain bike so I ask my wife (bribed her is more like it) to go pick up some for me. I tell her I need 26 X 2.1-2.5 presta so she writes it down and heads for this shop. I told het to go to Sun & Ski, Performance, or any other place than this shop but it's close so here she goes. Sure enough they sell her tubes that won't work with my 2.4 tires (26 X 1.75 - 2.1) and she brings them home. I assume that she wrote it down wrong but to her credit she got it completely right. We both drive back and I show Mr. Salesman the receipt to which he replies "What kind of bike are you riding?" and "We don't sell tubes in that size.". Well first off what does it matter what bike I ride and why did you sell my wife the wrong sized tube when she asked for a specific size? Three times he asks me what bike I ride and I tell him I ride an XC bike. He says my tires are too big for an XC bike. I didn't ask his opinion and I sure don't want it! What business is it of his as to what size tires I prefer? Just sell me the tubes I need or tell me you don't carry them. I'll never reccomend this snobby shop to anyone ever.

Other Comments:
I'd give a zero for customer service and a 6 for the mechanics ability.
