Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Shop is open and staff is friendly. My 3 year old has spent 15 minutes riding a bike around the shop, while I picked up some gear. Good selection of bikes and gear. Beautiful area! Customer Service: During my 4+ month bike shopping odyssey, I happened on Jans and am lucky I did. It was BY FAR my best experience, both in the shop, as well as email communication between my visits(pet peeve when shops have contact email on their website and never respond). Todd the bike shop manager was on top of every question, responding with detail. Jack is responsive and was great to deal with.
Other Comments: Best price I found on my SC BLT.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Jans Mountain Outfitters is one of those shops that sells more than just bikes, but don't let that fool you. In fact, they are one of, if not the largest, volume dealer of Santa Cruz bikes in the state. Their expertise and commitment to biking is well documented. They sponsor several biking (road and mountain) events each year. Customer Service: This is an arbitrary rating because bike shops really are about who you build relationships with. The store itself is just that, a store, but the sales rep and mechanics are the life blood of any shop. That said, this shop has a great crew working for them. If you get a chance to talk to Ryan, he knows what customer service is about both before, during, and after the sale. Other Comments: A little short on floor space, but they make up for it in the areas that matter most, i.e. customer service and bike maintenance. They sell big name (Trek) and several boutique brands (Intense, Ibis, and Santa Cruz). The only draw back with Jans is that you may not be able to strike a deal there. You will be hard pressed to get them to cut prices.
