Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Westhill Shop

West Hill Shop has sold bicycles, nordic skis, and related stuff in Putney, Vermont, since 1971, when Neil Quinn founded the shop (along with three guys named Bob and their spouses). When Neil decided to retire, Diny and Jim Sweitzer of Putney bought the shop because they wanted to have more fun at work - and they are!

The shop has been home for legends such as Captain Dondo and Jim Langley.

Today West Hill Shop continues as a low-key, friendly source for equipment, service, advice, deals, good places to ride and cross-country ski, racing results, touring information, snow conditions, and much more, with superb mechanics and ski-tuners. Our staff has years of experience at wrenching, tuning skis, selling skis and bikes, finding the right brake pads or the perfect wax. Our crew includes Daq Woods, Pip Bannister, Sara Henry, Rob Westover, and our newest addition, Kevin Keller.

We sponsor a local bicycle club, Putney Bicycle Club, which has a wide variety of road and mountain bike rides from spring to late fall. And we specialize in cyclocross, hosting cyclocross training rides in the fall, as well as the annual West Hill Shop Cyclocross Race.

Over the winter of 2005/2006, we added more retail and shop space. Check out some of the construction process!

Be sure to visit our Rogue's Gallery of former and sometime employees, which also has links to great stories by some of the same. (Don't miss Charley's trip to Holland. Or How Captain Dondo Got His Name. Or the one about Jim Langley and the woodstove. Or ... oh, heck, just start reading.) And check out the great old photos by Bob George, then photographer for Velo News.

Shop Summary:
The Westhill Shop is by far the best shop i have ever shopped at, the people who work there truly know what they are doing and love what there doing too. My two favorite people in the Shop are Daq Head Mechanic, and Rob who does every thing else no one is doing. Daq is just a all around person what ever you give him to ride he will ride it, and on top of that he will amaze you with all the tricks and stunt he can do too. Then there is Rob who worked for Sinister Bikes before he came to Westhill, he is great all around rider too. If you're ever in Putney, Vermont it's worth going to just visit the Westhill Shop.

Customer Service:
If you have problem with your one, two, three, or even four wheeled pedal transportation the people who work at Westhill can help you.

Other Comments:
If you ever do decide to go to The Westhill shop ask for Daq, cause he can solve almost any problem, and will have tons of stories to tell you.
