Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Black Dog Bikes

This a fairly new shop and they seem to be doing everything right. If they don't have something in stock he will gladly order it and we are not talking about a two or three week wait usally about a week. James and Sarah are the owners and they have really filled a hole in this area for bike shops. We are not bike shop poor but you had to drive a little to get to a decent shop. They are very freindly people and are very passionate about bikes and I do mean all bikes. I think I can speak for the cyclist in my town and say we are glad you are here ... Thanks.. bikerdad36

Shop Summary:
Cool little shop, not a lot of high-end bling but clearly in the know and good quality. Had the essentials, and a good range of brands. Came across as a great independent local bike shop with solid customer service, and enthusiastic to get people riding and on the local trails.

Customer Service:
A+. No attitude, friendly and great help. I swung by passing through town on the way to ride GW nat'l forest. I had no idea where to go, and was just counting on finding a shop for guidance--Black Dog was the jackpot. The dude was sold out of the right map, but gave me his personal map (I had to force him to let me pay for it) after spending 30 min marking trails for this ride, the next ride, etc. His advice was perfect. He gave me great tips on parking, trail quirks, seasonal changes, and more. He also apologized for not having the map and told me other shops in town to go to to find it, no harsh competetive attitude here.

Other Comments:
Go there and support this shop!! This is the kind we need more of--mom and pop owned, real riders without attitude, and just stoked to get you into the great riding that exists in the area.

Shop Summary:
A good shop, run by good people. The owners are involved in advocacy and local cycling culture. Always helpful, and fun to ride with.

Customer Service:
Great, never surly, never too busy to chat, even if you're just dropping by to hang out.

Other Comments:
The best thing is the tue/thur indoor spin during the winter months. I never make it out to spin, but I just like that they like bikes that much and want to share that passion with others.
