Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Small time shop that hustles recumbents and kids bikes, bells, knock-off-brand, etc. Great location at the W&OD trail in Vienna, Va. Owner is a bit aloof and not the most heart-warming individual,...maybe because of sales pressure from Spokes down the street?,... tough competition in Northern Virginia with a Performance Bike Shop on every corner too! If I had a flat and no spare tube,...I'd hump it there to get by. Customer Service: Sales staff is a bit young and not too knowledgeable about MTB. I would have to say that the 'target audience' is the older rider looking for a recumbent to get down the W&OD Trail. Other Comments: They had a very good tech there once, Adam Ward, who was a sponsored Downhill racer and 29'er rider that could wrench really well, but I think he is gone or frequents the shop on a consultant basis. Call before hand if you need service done to see if he's there. My 'chili' award for Tech expertise is with Adam being there!

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: small shop that really isnt that place to go for someone who is anything other than a recreational biker. no real high end or mid level mountain bikes are stocked or sold here. Didnt see one bike in there with disc brakes on it. Customer Service: when i went in there seemed to be plenty of people working, but even with no other customers in there, they didnt seem to eager to help me. when someone finally came over to me, and i explained what was from with my fork, his eyes sorta glazed over. I then asked for the lead mechanic, once again after explaining the situation the "deer in the headlights" look, told me just to turn around and go elsewhere.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: small shop in vienna that bills itself as Northern Virginia's recumbent, trike and folding bike headquarters - and they should stick to trike and folding bikes, cause theyre awful with mountain bikes. Customer Service: i stood there waiting at the counter for like 15 minutes while they goofed off, before they ackowledged my existance. Mechanid didnt write up a ticket for the work i wanted, cause he said "he'd remember it". well when i went in to get the bike, it was not done as i told him i wanted it done. ANOTHER mechanic worked on it instead. If there was a ticket written he could have done what i wanted, but no... then the owner comes over and gets involved, with an attitude and trying to make excuses and rationalize it away, instead of just saying "sorry, we messed up" and we'll fix it". Other Comments: i only went here cause my regular shop was really backed up. next time, i;ll just wait.
