Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: I'm starting to wonder why I bother going into Greg's in Bellevue anymore. The folks they are hiring are really into drinking their ice mochas and selling low-end bikes and that's about it. Customer Service: My last trip in I needed to get a helmet and the customer rep was not happy that I was interrupting her inventory. She brought me the wrong helmet and I had to find someone else to help me.
Repairs are a joke there. I was told five different reasons on why they couldn't repair my bike until they finally 'fessed up and said they had no room for repairs. Why not just say that up front?
Other Comments: They stock low-end parts, charge MSRP or worse, and you feel like you're in Wal-Mart not a LBS. It's a shame too. Their Bellevue location would be very convenient for me but I can't bring myself to walk in there anymore.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: This shop is okay. They have all of the essentials and if you ask, the employees will give you any help you require. The best thing is that they don't hover in the eaves waiting for the next cycling weeney to come in the door to be pounded upon with the unerving "Can I help you". Come on, those of us who actually ride know what we want and typically know where to find it in a well laid out shop. Customer Service: See above for the service anouncement. But just to make it clear, if you need assistance, ask. Other Comments: Honestly, Gregg's is a pretty average shop. But when it comes to their high products they are willing to haggle on the end price. There are a lot of lesser shops available, with a tighter budget, who won't negotiate, and then there are the glamorous "markets" who are about selling.
Give me the average shop any day.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Easy-access location (for me), good parking, great selection of bikes. Customer service has been fine for me so far, as has the repair shop. Customer Service: Went in browsing, hoping they had something in my size (tall female half giraffe half orangutan). Had plenty of chance to try on bikes within a tight budget range, narrowed to two and test-rode both (in spite of rain). Got the one I liked better, no pressure from them at all. Staff was friendly, helpful, realistic, didn't get bike-snobby on me for my somewhat limited budget ($1200 out the door). Greenlake shop had been reluctant about test rides in the rain; Bellevue had no problems with it and seemed like they do this all the time.
Rode the bike about 30 miles right after that, went back the next day for a few minor squawks and they took care of them all right on the spot, in about fifteen minutes (service department staffed and ready on a Sunday!). All items were corrected, as determined during my subsequent longish ride.
90 days free service with purchase encourages me to go back as needed during the break-in. No complaints so far, I'll be back. Other Comments: Was nice to be accurately appraised and not condescended to by male staff. Am somewhat new to "semi-serious" cycling, but tend to be mechanically/computationally inclined. They neither talked over my head nor patronized. Feel like I got a very good deal in terms of bang for the buck (LeMond Tourmalet '07).

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: They have a good selection of bikes and three locations in the Seattle area. Customer Service: Gregg's customer service is horrible, especially in the Bellevue store. I know several people, including myself, who have taken bikes to Gregg's for repairs and the repairs aren't done correctly so they have to pay again to take it to another shop.
They have botched 3 repairs for me this summer and I've decided not to go back.
Other Comments: They were a great shop a few years ago but they have gone downhill. There are several better shops in the area.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Mostly bikes, but they do have snowboards, skis and skates. Customer Service: For the most part they have good customer service and are helpful. If the guy you are talking to doesn't have the answer to your question, there is a very good chance that someone there will. For a big bike shop, it still has a small shop feel. Other Comments: Greggs has the best selection of both high end bikes and less expensive ones. They have more bike gear than any other shop in Seattle. I typically go in there for a water bottle and end up spending about 2 hours- the shop is great and the people that work there are friendly.
