Patio Bike Shop

An extremely established bike shop, that does honest, fast, and "done the right way" repairs. Friendly and very knowledgeable mechanics, the shop and head wrench have been there since the early 70's. Carries everything you can think of, and has all the odd vintage collector stuff you could possibly want. The midwest's definitive and reputable bike shop.

Shop Summary:
While endurance training on a 1983 Raleigh road bike, I put too much torque on the smaller chain wheel while climbing a hill and the bolts holding it on were ripped off. The bolts were specific to the old Raleigh and I could not find their replacements anywhere- ebay, on-line, or any bike shop in the Milaukee area- I went to 5 different shops. Finally I went to Patio Bike Shop and not only did they have the correct bolt set, but they called in an off duty machinist to craft me a new bolt set becasue I could not afford the discontinued factory set at the time. Their machinist actually came into the shop on his day off, took a standard bolt and altered it to fit the Raleigh chain wheel and it looked exactly the same as the factory set. The next day I competed with the Raleigh in the Devil's Lake Triathlon in Baraboo Wisconsin which consists of several long and steep climbes and the chain-wheel and bike worked better than ever- they also gave it a thourogh tune up and lubrication inside the crank and chain. I am very impressed with the level of service, price, knowledge, and craftmanship I recieved from this shop and now I wouldn't go anywhere else.
